MINISTER
FOR FINANCE — FLEET NETWORK SHARES
1420. Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH to
the Leader of the House representing Minister for Finance:
I refer to the Minister for Finance's comments that
three days before he was sworn in as minister he recognised that his interest
in Fleet Network presented a potential conflict of interest and, further, that
he had concerns with his ability to divest that asset in the 60-day period.
(1) In light
of this, can the minister explain why arrangements were not put in place
immediately he became a minister to transfer responsibilities for State Fleet
to another minister?
(2) Did the
minister and the director general of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet
agree to simply ignore his potential conflict of interest until he divested
himself of the asset?
(3) If no to
(2), what arrangements were put in place to manage the minister's
potential conflict of interest?
