The Minister Replied:
1(a)-(c)
Unaccompanied minors receive social work support from Family and Children's Services which identifies and ensures practical and other support in areas such as safe, secure accommodation, material assistance to provide clothing, household goods, education expenses and support with medical/social issues. Unaccompanied minors have access to mainstream schooling in government schools.
Assistance is provided on request when family groups approach a local Family and Children's Services Office based on an assessment of need.
Other services that Western Australian Government agencies provide to Temporary Protection Visa holders are:
· Health services under the terms of the Australian Health Care Agreement to those presenting themselves to the public hospital system
· Education services to minors, including unaccompanied minors, through access to the State's mainstream schools system
· Family and Children services through the State's Refugee Minors Program and Family Crisis Program
· Disability services where there are no residency requirements
· Police services for all people who are issued with any class of visa as all people resident in the State are entitled to the protection of all Statute law existent within State boundaries; and
· Fire and emergency services.
