I refer to the email correspondence by the Divisional Superintendent of the Firearm Reform Division on August 10th 2024 and ask: (a) Can the Minister for Police confirm the "pest density reports" exist; (b) When will the “pest density distribution reports” be made available; (c) Did the Minister for Police authorise the emailed correspondence from the Divisional Superintendent of the Firearm Reform Division on the 12th August 2024: (i) If not authorise the emailed correspondence; (d) Please outline a breakdown of the funding for the Firearm Reform Division; (e) Are additional employments made for the Firearm Reform Division; (f) Are additional employments made for the Firearm Reform Division; (g) What number of Full Time Equivalent's are engaged in the Firearm Reform Division; and (h) Have FTEs positions been employed for the oversight of maps, guidelines and written authority recommendations?

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) provided WA Police with preliminary data on the distribution of animal pest species to inform the regulation for the firearms Act 2024 and will continue to work with WA Police on the most effective method of providing information on pest distribution.

(d) No funding has been received for the Firearm Reform Division.

(g) The Western Australia Police Force advises that due to operational sensitivities, specific information relating to staffing levels and roles will not be disclosed.
