I refer to the Government’s proposal to excise land at Wireless Hill Park, which I raised in a member’s statement on Wednesday, 15 October 2003. (1) Has the parliamentary secretary drawn the matters I raised to the Government’s attention for action; and, if not, why not? (2) If so, when was the matter raised and what action has the Government taken to expedite the conservation plans at the properties affected? Hon KEN TRAVERS

I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) I have brought the matter to the attention of the Government. However, notice of this question was given only this morning. I urge opposition members that if they want their statements brought to the attention of government members, they let them know. I check Hansard regularly, but I was away on urgent parliamentary business when the member made that statement. (2) As is the practice of this place, if the member wants that part of the question answered, the agreement under the new sessional orders is that the Government has to receive notice by lunchtime on Thursdays.
