As at 8 August 2018 are there any prisoners who have served in any military or conflict and if so: (a) How many and in what prisons; (b) What is their country of origin (i.e.l former British soldier); (c) What country or conflict did they serve in; (d) How many by security class; (e) Is there any question upon intake (remand or post sentencing) about their veteran status: (i) If not, why not; and (f) Do they receive any treatment/support from Veteran Services or affiliated groups (DVA/RSL/Soldier On)?

The Department of Justice advises:
(a) 110 across the Prisoner estate.
(b)-(c) Country of origin and country served includes Australia, Cyprus, New Zealand, South Africa, France, Holland, Poland, England, Greece, Portugal, Rwanda, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Iraq, Lebanon, Serbia, Turkey, United States of America,Colombia, Taiwan and Turkey.
(d) Min: 39

(f) There is no formal pathway, however, should a prisoner wish to contact such services they are able to seek contact through Unit staff.
