ASSAULTS AGAINST NURSES
24. Hon PETER COLLIER to
the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the assaults against
nurses in public hospitals.
(1) What is the number of assaults
against nurses for each of —
(a) 2017;
(b) 2018; and
(c) 2019?
(2) What is the number of assaults
in each month for 2019?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) (a) There were 662 assaults from
July to December 2017.
(b) There were 1 404 assaults.
(c) There were 828 assaults from
January to July 2019.
The
remaining data for January to June 2017 is currently being collated and will be
provided by 12 March 2020.
(2) The answer to
part (2) is in tabular form listed by month and number of assaults. I seek
leave to have the response incorporated into Hansard .
