I refer to the Western Australian Technology and Industry
Advisory Council's annual activity report for the year ending 30 June
2014.
(1) Has the minister received a proposal from TIAC to add new
members to the council; and, if yes —
(a) when was the proposal
received;
(b) has the minister considered
the proposal; and
(c) will the new appointments be
made to TIAC; and, if yes, when?
(2) If no to (1) —
(a) is the
minister aware that some of the terms of appointment of TIAC members have
expired;
(b) will the minister be making
new appointments to TIAC; and
(c) can the
minister confirm that the functions of the minister under section 6 of the
Industry and Technology Development Act 1998 are being met?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) (a) Yes. A proposal on membership was sent by TIAC to me
on 22 August 2013.
(b) Yes.
(c) I was
happy with the members and have not sought to change membership in the short
term.
(2) Not
applicable. I point out that the membership continues after the expiry date,
notwithstanding that the membership is not being renewed.
