(1) Under the emergency management framework administered by the State Emergency Management Advisory Committee (SEMAC), the Office of Energy is the Management Authority for liquid fuel shortages. In concert with industry, the Office has developed the State Liquid Fuel Shortage Plan. The plan provides a methodical approach and details the steps to be taken in managing a petroleum products shortage emergency in Western Australia. The plan provides for the rationing of liquid fuel sales using provisions contained in the Fuel, Energy and Power Resources Act 1972. (2) No.
