minister representing the Minister for Planning:
(1) Why was the options paper or discussion paper referred to
in question on notice 1017 not produced?
(2) Has the
Infrastructure Coordination Committee of the Western Australian Planning
Commission rescinded or replaced its decision 90.9.2 of 24 January 2011 to
endorse the preparation of a statement of planning policy for activity centres
parking?
(3) If yes to
(2), what were the terms of the motion that rescinded or replaced it; and on
what date did this occur?
(4) If no to (2), when does the minister expect a decision on
draft policy to be made?

question.
(1) Following
the release of the discussion paper in 2011, it was determined that another
discussion paper or options paper was not necessary and that planning
guidelines would be a more appropriate planning tool.
(2) No.
(3) Not applicable.
(4) If
guidelines are deemed necessary, they will be released for public comment
following approval by the Western Australian Planning Commission. I am advised
that the Department of Transport has the primary responsibility for parking
policy matters.
