I refer to the Budget papers page 359 regarding FTE provided under both service outputs (Primary and Secondary Schooling), and ask -
(1) Has any funding been allocated to ensure backfilling of positions temporarily vacated by staff on paid leave (for example participation staff, school psychs, and other staff at District Offices?)
(2) How many of the total FTE are school psychologists?
(3) Has there been any additional FTE provided for school psychologist positions?

(1) Each District Office is allocated a total annual budget to deliver services. These budgets are at a macro level and do not or specify funding levels for backfilling staff on leave. The expenditure of that budget, including backfilling of positions temporarily vacated by staff on paid leave is at the discretion of District Directors.
(2) There are 242.3 FTE school psychologists included in the 2010-11 employee FTE estimate.
(3) The 2010-11 school psychologist employee FTE estimate includes an additional 30 FTEs over 2009-10 Estimated Actuals.
