716. Hon SUE ELLERY to the
Minister for Education:
I refer to the payments for Western Australian government
schools from the federal government under the Students First program—the
replacement for Gonski funding.
(1) Is Western Australia still expecting to receive $3l million
in 2014?
(2) Have the terms of agreement for those funds been agreed?
(3) If yes to (2), will the minister table the agreement?
(4) What funds
has the federal government advised it will provide under that program over each
of the calendar years 2014 to 2017 inclusive?
(5) How are the amounts in part (4) broken down per financial
year?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1) Yes.
(2) There is
currently no formal agreement. There has been an exchange of letters between
ministers that provided the Students First funding for Western Australian
public schools from 1 January 2014.
(3) Not applicable.
(4) The
funding is as follows: 2014, $490.282 million; 2015, $566.073 million; 2016,
$629.341 million; and 2017, $700.188 million.
(5) The
amounts are broken down as follows: 2014–15, $528.178 million; 2015–16,
$597.707 million; 2016–17, $664.765 million; and 2017–18,
$824.794 million.
