(1) Will the Minister direct Western Australia Police to make public the response times for calls made to 000 and 131 444 in: (a) the South West region; and (b) Bunbury? (2) If no to (1), why not? (3) Why does the Minister think it is reasonable to require police to make public the response times in the metropolitan area while not making public the response times in: (a) the South West region; and (b) Bunbury? (4) In answer to question on notice No. 3096, the Minister stated "response time data in the metropolitan area only is sufficiently reliable to meet the Office of the Auditor General's auditing requirements", why is response time data for at least Bunbury not equally reliable to meet the Office of the Auditor General's requirements?

Attorney General representing the Minister for Police
Response time
56 days
(1) No (2) WA Police currently reports on the percentage of priority 1 and 2 incidents in the metropolitan area responded to within 12 minutes (Target 80%) and priority 3 incidents responded to within 60 minutes (Target 80%).
The metropolitan area generates 75% of tasks for response and the time taken to respond is not significantly impacted by distance constraints. Regional WA locations are not included due to resources being required to attend tasks over great distances.
As a result it is not possible to set appropriate targets which can be measured. In addition, WA Police does not report externally in relation to response times for either police districts or stations, such as Bunbury Police Station.
