1183. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the
Attorney General representing the Minister for Corrective Services:
How many women are currently being held at Bandyup Women's
Prison in each security classification —
(a) on remand;
(b) awaiting a court appearance;
(c) newly sentenced prisoners
awaiting assessment; and
(d) women completing sentence?

On behalf of the Minister for Corrective Services, I thank
the honourable member for some notice of the question.
The Department of Corrective Services advises that as at 20
October 2014 —
(a) Maximum, 13; medium, 93; and
minimum, 15.
(b) All remand prisoners are
awaiting a court appearance.
(c) This
information was unable to be obtained in the required time frame. I ask the
member to place this part of the question on notice.
(d) Maximum, 15; medium, 128; and
minimum, 43.
