I refer to the disturbance at West Kimberley Regional Prison on 20 July 2025, and I ask: (a) How many Corrective Services staff were injured during the incident; (b) How many prisoners were injured; (c) How many beds, cells, wards, wings or other fixtures were confirmed as damaged; (d) What is the estimated cost of repairs to accommodation units, security infrastructure, and other damaged property; (e) Has an independent assessment been undertaken, and if so, on what date; (f) What was the full-time equivalent (FTE) staffing allocation at West Kimberley Regional Prison on 20 July 2025, and how many officers were actually rostered on duty during the disturbance; (g) How does this compare with the Department’s identified minimum safe staffing levels for that facility; (h) Following the damage sustained on 20 July 2025, what is the current operational capacity of West Kimberley Regional Prison; (i) How many prisoners are currently accommodated in alternative sleeping arrangements (such as mattresses on the floor) as a direct result of this incident; (j) How many prisoners were accommodated in alternative sleeping arrangements in the weeks following the incident; (k) What remedial arrangements have been made to restore lost capacity, and by what date does the Department expect the facility to return to full operational status; (l) How many prisoners have been transferred from the West Kimberley Regional Prison since 20 July 2025; (m) How many prisoners have been transferred into the West Kimberley Regional prison since 20 July 2025; and (n) Has the Department identified similar risks of overcrowding, under-staffing, or alternative sleeping arrangements at other custodial facilities across Western Australia?
