The Minister for the Environment and Heritage has provided the following response - (1) The Department of Conservation and Land Management has undertaken the following to progress the Geographe Bay-Cape Hardy Inlet marine conservation reserve proposal - (a) mapped the marine habitats of the proposed area; (b) undertaken a biological survey of the proposed area; (c) collated and summarised ecological and social information on the area to provide the necessary background for the planning processes; (d) undertaken an issues analysis to gauge community aspirations, views and knowledge of the proposal; and (e) undertaken extensive liaison with key stakeholders. (2) Nominations for appointment of a community advisory committee are likely to be sought in the near future.
