I thank the member for some notice of this question, and I thank Hon Giz Watson for waiting for me to be in a position to answer this question on behalf of the Minister for Fisheries - through gritted teeth! (1)-(2) The western rock lobster fishery continues to be certified by the Marine Stewardship Council. I am advised that negotiations with the Marine Stewardship Council’s technical certifier and the client who, in this case, is the WA Fishing Industry Council are under way for the fishery to enter into a second period of certification. Although negotiations are under way, the Marine Stewardship Council has seen fit to extend the initial certification period until 25 August.
