The Minister has noted a $6.3 billion
investment in homelessness services across Western Australia since 2021, with approximately
$5.9 million per year allocated to the Southwest. Can the Minister provide a breakdown of
how this funding is distributed specifically across Busselton, Dunsborough,
Margaret River, and Manjimup (separate from Bunbury-based services):(a) outside of Bunbury, what direct homelessness service investment exists in Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River, and Manjimup;(b) The Minister has referenced Anglicare’s $3.1 million investment. Can the Minister clarify how this funding has been expanded or delivered across Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River, and Manjimup; and(c) what immediate or current “right now” investments are being made to support shelter options for people experiencing homelessness in Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River, and Manjimup?

Since 2021, the Cook Labor Government has invested $10.8 billion in housing and homelessness services across Western Australia.
Department of Communities funds homelessness services by service model, provider agreement and regional need, rather than through fixed allocations to individual towns.
In the South-West, Communities funds seven organisations to deliver ten distinct homelessness services, with combined 2025–26 funding of approximately $5.9 million (ex GST). These services include crisis and transitional accommodation, youth accommodation support, private tenancy support, housing support workers and engagement hub support.
Current direct service investment outside Bunbury includes Accordwest’s Capes Accommodation Support and Advocacy Service in Busselton, Accordwest’s ASWA Youth Accommodation Support Service in Bunbury and Busselton, and South-West housing support worker services delivered across the region, including through Accordwest and Centacare.
The $3.1 million election commitment is for the expansion of Housing First Support Services in Bunbury, delivered by Anglicare WA under a consortium model with Break Away Aboriginal Corporation and Doors Wide Open.
The funding is not allocated on a town-by-town basis across Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River or Manjimup. Rather, it provides flexible, responsive services for people experiencing rough sleeping across the South West and Greater Bunbury area including, Shires of Capel, Dardanup, Harvey, Collie and City of Busselton.
