I refer to the Coalition of Australian Governments national partnership agreement on Indigenous and Early Childhood Development and the Indigenous children and family centres to be established as part of this agreement, and I ask -
(1) Will specialist support services for foetal alcohol spectrum disorders be included as part of these centres?
(2) If yes to (1), please detail -
(a) which foetal alcohol spectrum disorder specific services will be available; and
(b) which centres these services will be available at?
(3) If no to (1), why not?

(1) The Children and Family Centres have health consulting and training rooms that may be used by specialist support services, including those for foetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD). Annual operational funding is available to support the provision of specialist services.
(2)(a) The specific services delivered at and through each centre will be dependent on the particular needs of students and their families in the local area. During the consultation phase of the design of the Children and Family Centres, service providers will be consulted about what programs and services they can deliver. Government organisations including the Department of Health and Aboriginal Medical Services and non-government service providers for FASD awareness, parent and community health services will be invited to participate in these discussions.
(2)(b) There is potential for all Centres to support the provision of programs and services for FASD at and through the sites. This provision, however, will depend on identified community needs. Parent education, support and health services for FASD were identified as areas of need for the Halls Creek, Kununurra and Fitzroy Valley Children and Family Centres.
(3) Not applicable.
