CLIMATE CHANGE ACTION PLAN
I refer to the Premier’s press release of 17 November 2006 titled “Hot rock to cool global warming”, which outlines the state government’s aim to develop a new climate change action plan to increase the use of renewable and low-emission power technologies and reduce long-term greenhouse gas emissions. (1) How much funding will be dedicated to the climate change action plan? (2) Will local business be able to access funding under this action plan? (3) Regardless of the proposed climate change action plan, would the state consider tapping into the federal government’s low emissions technology demonstration fund to help Western Australian businesses to develop sustainable renewable energy technologies?
