94. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the minister representing
Minister for Forestry:
I refer to the government's
announcement of 8 September 2021 on the ending of most native timber harvesting
in Western Australia.
(1) What volume
of jarrah logs have been extracted to provide access to mining, including for
bauxite and mineral sands in the 2021 calendar year?
(2) How much of the volume in (1)
was saw logs?

question. The Minister for Forestry has provided the following information. He
says that this information is not yet available. The data is currently being
collated following the 2021 year end and reviewed by the Department of
Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions and the Forest Products Commission.
