I refer to the provision of support services for families with infants or children who have been newly diagnosed with a hearing loss, prior to those families being registered with an intervention service either through the Western Australia Institute for Deaf Education, or the Telethon Speech and Hearing Centre, and I ask -
(1) Does the Minister intend to fund the provision of a specialised support service for families with infants or children who have been newly diagnosed with a hearing loss?
(2) If yes, how much funding will be provided in -
(a) 2011-12; and
(b) 2012-13?
(3) If yes to (1), how many family support workers (FTE) will be employed to deliver this service?
(4) If no to (1), why not?
(5) Does the Minister intend to support and fund the development of parent to parent mentoring, including the training of parents who have indicated they would be willing to mentor other parents?
(6) If yes to (5), how much funding will be provided?
