(a) if yes, which firm or firms currently provide a media monitoring service;
(b) if yes, what is the cost of the contract/s;
(c) if yes, since 23 September 2008 how much has been paid for media monitoring services;
(d) if yes, what is the duration of the contract(s); and
(e) if yes, when did the contract(s) commence?

Ministerial Office:
As of 1 January 2010 the Government Media Office ceased to operate in a move to streamline decision making and coordination across portfolios. As part of these changes, responsibility for daily Media Monitoring Services for Ministers and some government agencies has been transferred to the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
Western Australia Police
(a) Yes, Media Connect. The Department of Premier and Cabinet's Media Monitoring Unit also provide media monitoring services to some subscribers within Western Australia Police.
(b) $3000 per year (ex GST)
(c) Total amount of $16,393.03 (ex GST) for 1 May 09 to 21 May 10
(d) Contract Commenced with 'Media Connect' on 27 July 2009 for one year (previously the contract was with 'Media Monitors' - contract expired 4 August 2009 and commenced August 2005, having been signed by the previous government).
(e) Current contract (with Media Connect) commenced on 27 July 2009
FESA
a) Media Monitors.
(b) Average monthly cost of the service during the 13 month period from 1 May 2009 to 31 May 2010 is $5464.65 excluding GST.
(c) For the 13 month period 1 May 2009 to 31 May 2010 $71040.45 excluding GST, has been paid  for media monitoring services.
(d) The existing contract was renewed in July 2007 and is ongoing until terminated by either party.
(e) 2001 - contract signed by the previous government.
Office of Road Safety
(a) Media Monitors Pty Ltd
(b) Approximately $5000 per month, depending on the number of topics raised.
(c) From 1 May 2009 to 21 May 2010 -  $56314.08. Prior to this date the question has been asked and answered.
(d) The Client Service Order contract currently in place between the Office of Road Safety and Media Monitors Pty Ltd expires on 22/01/2011.
(e) The Client Service Order contract commenced 22/01/2009.
