HOARDING DISORDER
TREATMENT SERVICES
74. Hon ALISON XAMON to the parliamentary secretary representing the
Minister for Mental Health:
I refer to hoarding disorder
treatment services.
(1) Does the government fund the
provision of any specialist services to treat hoarding disorder?
(2) If yes to (1) —
(a) who provides these services; and
(b) where are the services located?
(3) If no to (1), why not?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) The Mental
Health Commission provides funding to ConnectGroups. ConnectGroups provides
assistance to a wide range of support groups in Western Australia, including
the Swan Hoarding Support Group.
(2) (a)–(b) The Swan
Hoarding Support Group is located at 47/2 Plantation Street, Menora.
(3) The Mental Health Commission also funds a number
of public mental health community treatment services and non-government community support organisations
that provide assistance to people with mental health issues, which may
include hoarding disorder.
