I refer to my question without notice 9, asked on 14 March 2006, regarding management responsibility for the Yarragadee aquifer. (1) What work has the Department of Water done to determine the ecological requirements for the Blackwood River? (2) Will the Department of Water provide the same processes and methodology for determining environmental requirements in the Blackwood River as have been used to determine the ecological water requirements of the Canning River as part of the “Caring for the Canning” action plan? (3) If not, why not? (4) What data and analysis has the Water Corporation provided for any assessment of ecological water requirements for the Blackwood River? (5) When does the Department of Water expect to complete an assessment of the ecological water requirements for the Blackwood River? (6) What work has the Department of Water done on determining the environmental water provisions for the Blackwood River? (7) When does the Department of Water expect to complete an assessment of the environmental water provisions of the Blackwood River? (8) Does the minister consider that it would be prudent for a proposal to extract water from the south west Yarragadee to have a comprehensive understanding of the ecological water flows of the Blackwood River? (9) If not, why not? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH
