(1) The approximate cost of staff hours spent on the inquiry, the cost of catering for staff members, witnesses and committee members during the hearings, the cost of the public advertisements of the inquiry, the cost of the travel to England and the cost of the postage, stationery and couriers in the inquiry to date is $140,000.
(2) Since the commencement of the inquiry, committee staff have completed other work in addition to the inquiry. The timesheets that committee staff submit do not itemise or breakdown work spent on the inquiry as opposed to other items of work; however, our best estimate is approximately 2,000 hours.
