I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) The Department of Agriculture contributes no funds directly to the grower research trials in this project but is providing in-kind support. The Department of Agriculture does, and will, provide technical, planning and networking support to the farmer groups, costed at $1.7 million over the five years of the project. (2) Not known. Of the $1.1 million contribution to the land, water and wool sustainable grazing on saline lands subprogram by Meat and Livestock Australia, Land and Water Australia and Australian Wool Innovation Ltd, approximately $600 000 has been committed to farmer research projects. (3) There are currently 40 projects accepted for funding. (4) We are able to identify the projects and a funding breakdown and are currently compiling the information into a report that will be available when Parliament resumes in November.
