I refer the parliamentary secretary to the Minister for Health’s directive announced on 8 July this year that hospitals would not be permitted to go on ambulance bypass without approval from the Department of Health. (1) On how many occasions since 8 July 2004 have doctors or medical staff at Royal Perth Hospital, Fremantle Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital requested that their hospitals be placed on ambulance bypass?
