HEALTH — SCHOOL
DENTAL SERVICE
953. Hon NEIL THOMSON to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the answer to my
question on notice answered on 13 August 2024 that stated —
As of 30 June 2023, the average wait
time for students on the Initial Wait List was 3.2 months.
I also note that vacancy rates for
dental therapists have increased to 39.9 full-time equivalents, as reported in
an answer provided on 19 June 2024.
(1) Does the
minister have any idea how regularly, on average, a child in the primary school
system sees a dental therapist or a dentist?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) If yes to
(1), what is the average wait time between visits for an oral health assessment
for children, noting my request to break these down into age or school year
cohorts?
