Hon KEN TRAVERS

I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) The eastern parts of lots 595 and 596 were protected under the Environmental Protection (Swan Coastal Plain Lakes) Policy 1992, which was published in the Government Gazette dated 18 December 1992. The policy is aimed in this case at preventing degradation or destruction of Stake Hill swamp at Baldivis. (2) The whole of lots 595 and 596 were compulsorily acquired on 8 August 2003 primarily for the Perth to Mandurah passenger railway. The railway corridor does not impact on the EPP protected parts of the property.
