HORIZON
POWER — BRENDAN HAMMOND
1395. Hon ROBIN CHAPPLE to the
Leader of the House representing the Minister for Energy:
I have become aware of allegations of potential improper
conduct at the board level of Horizon Power.
(1) Is it
correct that Brendan Hammond, ex-chairman of Horizon Power, had significant
interests and shares in a company that commenced a multimillion-dollar
infrastructure project for Horizon Power earlier this year?
(2) Is it correct that this was the reason Brendan Hammond
was dismissed by the Minister for Energy?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) No.
(2) The
minister did not dismiss Mr Hammond from the role; Brendan Hammond resigned as
chairman of Horizon Power on 1 June 2014 after eight years in the role due to
the increasing demands of his business commitments.
