the total family residential housing stock owned by BHP Billiton in Newman?
(5) Can the Minister provide the number of family residential houses are that are currently occupied by either:
(a) government agencies;
(b) non-government community agencies;
(c) contractors; and/or
(d) BHP Billiton employees?

BHP Billiton has provided the following details for parts (1-4) to the Department of State Development.
(1) For Rapid Growth Project 4 the company estimates 150-200 new permanent employee positions will be based in Newman and it anticipates the Project will be completed in 2010.
For Rapid Growth Project 5 the company advises that estimates of new permanent employment are not yet available. However, there will be a slight increase at Newman. The majority of employment growth for this Project is at the remote mines. The company anticipates the Project will be completed in 2011.
The Rapid Growth Project 6 has not yet received Board approval.
(2) The company's accommodation programme at Newman includes the construction of almost 300 new houses and units, plus the refurbishment of a significant number of existing houses and flats.
(3) Refer to part (2).
(4) BHP Billiton has advised the Department of State Development that details of housing stock owned by the company are not publicly available information due to BHP Billiton's confidentiality requirements.
