GRIFFIN COAL
1158. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the minister representing the
Minister for State and Industry Development, Jobs and Trade:
I refer to my question without
notice 104 of 21 February 2023 asking —
Will the government be extending to
Synergy coal supplier Premier Coal an equivalent coal pricing revision to the
proposed increased Griffin Coal pricing?
(1) As at 9 October 2023, encompassing the previous 18
months, has Premier Coal engaged with the government in any format in
seeking cost relief, financial assistance in commercial leverage on coal
pricing?
(2) If yes to
(1), on what dates did this engagement occur, in what format or structure and
who or whom was party to the engagements or proposals?
(3) Is the government's
fair pricing model for Griffin Coal now deemed applicable to Premier Coal?
(4) What will be
the implications to state budgetary costings and projections as a result of
increased prices paid for coal when new commercial arrangements are in place?
