The answer provides a link to a map, an indicative cost per lot, and the co-contribution formula, but cannot provide precise maintenance costs.

In relation to the State Government underground power policies and funding, I ask:
(a) what areas within the electorate of Perth remain with overhead powerlines;
(b) what is the cost of undergrounding these remaining lines;
(c) under the current co-contribution formulae, what would be the costs of all parties' co-contributions; and
(d) what is the excess maintenance cost of servicing these overhead lines as against undergrounded lines?

(a) A map of all areas captured by the Underground Power Program can be found here:
http://www.westernpower.com.au/documents/networkprojects/uppprojectmapv2.pdf
(b) It is difficult to calculate the precise cost of undergrounding all remaining overhead lines in the electorate of Perth. An indicative cost is $10,000 per residential lot.
(c) The State Government and Western Power pay 25% each and the relevant Local Government (LG) is required to fund the remaining 50%, usually via the ratepayers.
This figure cannot be provided, as maintenance costs are heavily dependent on factors which cannot be envisaged, such as inclement weather. Needless to say, the maintenance costs associated with underground power are significantly lower than those associated with overhead lines.
