I refer to the minister’s proposal to cap the distribution from the TAB to the racing codes under the fixed formula. Is the distribution of the first $1m after the cap of $50m to be made only to provincial racing or will it be allocated on the basis of submissions from all clubs for both trotting and racing, including country racing and country trotting clubs? This particular issue is being finalised. I have indicated to the Western Australian Turf Club, the Western Australian Trotting Association and the Greyhound Racing Association that I am contemplating going down that path. When I have completed the decision-making process, the member will be made aware of all the details. However, in respect of the matters he raised today, if we are to proceed with this - of course, it requires parliamentary approval - the funds would be available for any sector of the racing industry collectively - that is, gallops, trots and greyhounds - and not just for provincial gallops, which seems to be the point of the question.
