What I will say in this case is that we made an election
commitment to deliver air-conditioning upgrades to 45 schools in this term
of government, and they will be delivered. I also just remind the opposite side
that it was a great privilege to be at three schools in the member for
Riverton's seat, the seat of Bateman and, of course, in the seat of Fremantle
to see those works. They are not insignificant works. It is a complex project
to deliver to ensure that we do not disrupt schools' learning. Major upgrades
are required, including power upgrades, and entire ceilings need to be
reconfigured. It is not as simple as going to Harvey Norman, as I think the
opposition would suggest, and shoving in a couple of units.
I will just finish
on this. It is our government that made a commitment to deal with the legacy of
evaporative air conditioners. That was your policy under your government. I am
very proud that we will deliver it.
The Speaker: That concludes question time.
