CRIME STATISTICS
I refer the minister to the Australian Labor Party policy statement “More Police, Better Policing”, which states - Making Western Australians safe and secure in their homes and in their community is a key priority for a Gallop Labor Government. Is the minister aware that, according to Western Australia Police Service statistics, since this Government was elected overall crime has increased by 18 per cent, car theft has risen by 32 per cent, and burglary has increased by 20 per cent? How does the minister explain these significant increases? Mrs ROBERTS
