I refer to fines for false fire alarms and ask, since 1 January 2017: (a) how many fines have been issued; (b) what is the total value of fines issued; and (c) have there been any locations which have received three or more false alarm fines: (i) if so, how many locations; and (ii) if so, for non-single residential dwellings, what was the address of those locations?

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) advises:
The false fire alarm fee is a fee for service under section 36ZL(2) of the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1998 (the FES Act) and not a fine. Therefore, the responses provided below are in relation to the fee for service and not in relation to a fine.
(a) A total of 3,048 false fire alarm invoices have been issued during the period between 1 January 2017 to 4 December 2017.
(b) The value of 3,048 invoices at $750 each is $2,286,000.
(c) Yes.
(c)(i) 617 premises
(ii) This information is confidential information, the disclosure of which is limited by section 39 of the FES Act.
