I thank the honourable member for
some notice of his hilarious question! On behalf of the Minister for Regional Development,
I provide the following answer from the Minister for Water.
(1) Yes, they
were completed on 22 July 2020. I thank the residents who were impacted by the
odour issues for their patience while the Water Corporation completed the
repairs.
(2) Not
applicable.
(3) Water Corporation
has continuous odour monitoring for hydrogen sulphide at the plant, including
alarms that alert operational teams when a spike is detected. Online monitoring
of biogas venting is also now in place, and alarms are being installed to
enable a proactive response.
(4) Twenty-eight
complaints have been received since 1 January 2020. Since the repairs were
completed, only one complaint has been received about the loading of biosolids
onto a truck.
