POLICE — CRIME RATES — HOME
BURGLARIES
11. Mrs M.H. ROBERTS to the Minister for
Police:
I have a supplementary question.
Given that the minister has been
Minister for Police for four years, should the public of Western Australia not
reasonably expect her to be able to tell us what percentage of home burglaries
police attend and what the current clearance rate for home burglaries is?
Should those facts not be at the minister's fingertips after four years
in the job?

I appreciate the member for Midland's
confidence in my ability to retain an encyclopedic memory for all things
statistical to do with police, but sadly her expectations of my capacity
somewhat exceed my capacity to retain the statistical information.
Several members interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Girrawheen! Member for Midland! Member for Girrawheen,
you will be taking a walk down to Elizabeth Quay if you do not relax! Minister,
quickly.
Mrs
L.M. HARVEY : I will say once again that if the member for Midland would
like specific information like that, I am very happy to provide it either in a
question on notice or even if the minister could give me prior warning of a
question that specific, then I would be happy to provide it.
Mrs
M.H. Roberts interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Midland! Next question, member for Vasse.
Mrs
M.H. Roberts interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Midland, I call you to order for the second time.
