I refer to the new
Artificial Intelligence Advisory Board and the announcement that expressions of
interest are open.
(1) When is the board membership expected to be finalised?
(2) Is there a planned date for the board's first
meeting?
(3) Due to the
relatively new and rapidly changing landscape of AI technology, are board
applications restricted to Western Australian citizens?

I thank the honourable member for
notice of the question and her interest in this matter.
(1) Expressions
of interest for membership on the Western Australian Artificial Intelligence
Advisory Board are open until Monday, 25 November 2024. Finalisation of the
appointment of board members will occur when all required processes are
completed.
(2) It is
anticipated that the board will meet in the first quarter of 2025.
