Abe, to the international community to help contain the problems at Fukushima.

The state government has not provided any volunteer assistance following more
recent comments by the Japanese government in relation to this matter.
Following the earthquake in 2010, the state government provided a donation of
$500 000 to assist with recovery for affected areas. Members of the state
government's North Asia office based in Tokyo have volunteered in a
personal capacity, assisting with recovery operations in the Fukushima region.
