I refer to offences relating to the possession of a prohibited drug, and I ask: (a) For each of the years, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 to date, how many individuals were charged with an offence relating to possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply, in relation to the following substances: (i) Methylamphetamine; (ii) Heroin; (iii) MDMA; (iv) Cocaine; and (v) Cannabis (marijuana); (b) For each of the same years and substances listed in question (a), how many individuals were charged with an offence of selling, supplying, or offering to sell or supply a prohibited drug to another person ; (c) For each of the same years and substances listed in question (a), how many individuals were charged with an offence of manufacturing or preparing a prohibited drug ; (d) For each of the same years and substances listed in question (a), how many individuals were charged with possession or use of a prohibited drug ; (e) For each of the same years and substances listed in question (a), of the substances seized what was the total : (i) Weight per substance and year; and (ii) Street value per substance and year; and (f) For those changed with any offence listed from questions (a) to (d), and broken down per substance and year, how many cases: (i) Resulted in conviction; (ii) Resulted in imprisonment; and (iii) Were withdrawn or dismissed?

(a-d) The Western Australia Police Force cannot provide a response to these questions as the recording of offences for possession of a prohibited drug under Section 6 or cultivating a prohibited plant under section 7 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1981 in the WA Police Force Incident Management System or Prosecution Application do not specify the particular drug or plant type. Determining the number of charges relating to each specific prohibited drug or plant would require manual data interrogation and would be extremely resource intensive.
