The Minister Replied:
(a) Nil.
There are three patients who live in the Lower Great Southern region on dialysis who are
clinically managed by Royal Perth Hospital. Two patients are on haemodialysis at the
Albany Community Dialysis Service and the third patient is on home peritoneal dialysis.
(b) Yes.
(c) There are three trained nurse carers available to provide carer support to patients dialysing at the Albany Community Dialysis Service.
The cost associated with the provision of nurse carer support is $34 848 per annum for the two patients currently requiring the support at the Albany Community Dialysis Service.
(d) Yes.
(e) Not applicable.
