ENGLISH - COURSE OF STUDY
I refer the minister to his response to question without notice 20 asked on Tuesday, 20 March, and to the response to questions asked of the chief executive officer of the Curriculum Council of Western Australia, Mr David Wood, during the Council budget estimates session on Thursday, 21 June 2007, at page E601 of Hansard , in relation to the English course of study. (1) Given the fact that the English jury has found that the English course of study is “flawed”, will the minister guarantee that the 2007 English results will be accurate? (2) Have any consensus meetings been held for the English course of study in 2007? (3) If yes to (2), have any problems with the assessment procedure been identified; and, if so, what are these problems? (4) Has the special provisions committee identified at the budget estimates hearing identified any students who may be disadvantaged by the transition of courses? (5) If yes to (4), how many students have been identified, and what action has been taken to ensure that these students will not be disadvantaged by the transition? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH
