(1) Is the minister aware that following the completion of Roe Highway stage 6, a large amount of rubbish related to the works, including removed vegetation and wire fencing, has been left in the vicinity of Arlington Drive? (2) Why were the contractors not required to remove this rubbish earlier? (3) What will the Government do to remove this mess? Hon KEN TRAVERS

I thank the member for some notice of this question. I am advised as follows - (1)-(3) Main Roads is not aware of the material referred to. However, the matter will be investigated, and, if found to be associated with the Roe Highway construction project, arrangements will be made for its removal.
