I refer to the vacant public housing properties in the south
east metropolitan region.
(1) How many are awaiting occupation by new tenants?
(2) What is
the average time during which these properties have been vacant?

I thank the honourable member very much for some notice of
the question. The Department of Housing advises —
(1) As at 30 April
2014, 18 properties were awaiting occupation in the department's south
east metropolitan region.
(2) Properties
re-let in the department's south east metropolitan region in the month
of April 2014 had been vacant for an average of 18 working days.
