GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS
I have a supplementary question. Why did the minister claim that he did not know that references to Western Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions were included in the budget estimates when both the federal government and the Environmental Protection Authority did know? Mr M. McGOWAN

The member for Capel did not listen to what I had to say. We are going to put in place a mechanism by which we can determine accurately what industries in this state are producing. The commonwealth’s figures are based on voluntary reporting, which means that the figures are wildly inaccurate. The opposition’s solution to this problem is to build nuclear power stations in the suburbs. As we know, if the Liberal Party had its way, the Sunset site would not have an aged persons’ hostel, it would have a nuclear power station!
