658. Hon NEIL THOMSON to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Racing and Gaming:
I refer to the banned drinkers
register trial.
(1) When will the
evaluation report be published?
(2) Please
confirm whether the following data points from regions where the BDR is being
trialled will be used in the evaluation —
(a) family violence data;
(b) school attendance data; and
(c) juvenile offending data?

I thank the honourable member for
this question. The following answer is provided on behalf of the Minister for
Racing and Gaming.
(1) The first
interim evaluation report for BDR Pilbara was released on 29 September 2022.
The first interim evaluation report for BDR–TAMS Kimberley is under
consideration by my office. The final evaluation reports for Pilbara and
Kimberley are expected to be completed in late 2023.
(2) Evaluation of
the enhanced BDR trial, following the proclamation of the Liquor Control
Amendment (Banned Drinkers Register) Bill 2023, will include consideration of
family violence, school attendance and juvenile offending data.
