GRAIN RAIL NETWORK — TIER 3 LINES
My question is to the Minister for Finance representing the Minister for Transport. Hon Simon O’Brien : Here we go! Hon KEN TRAVERS : I hope I get as full and comprehensive an answer, minister. (1) Will the Wheatbelt tier 3 rail lines be up to proper safety standards for the 2011–12 grain harvest? (2) If yes to (1), was the state government premature in putting the tier 3 lines into care and maintenance for safety reasons? (3) What is included in the $3 million worth of works identified as necessary to get these railways up to proper safety standards? (4) Has the government authorised the payment of funds to the private lessee of these lines to enable these works to commence immediately; and, if no, when will the work commence? Hon SIMON O’BRIEN
