On behalf of the Minister for
Planning representing the Minister for Culture and the Arts, I thank the member
for some notice of the question.
(1) The City of
Joondalup has not formally applied to the Department of Culture and the Arts
for funding.
(2) The
Department of Culture and the Arts and the Department of Treasury would
undertake an assessment of any formal request and/or business case. The
Department of Culture and the Arts has previously provided preliminary advice
to the City of Joondalup on the proposal for the performing arts centre.
(3) The
Department of Culture and the Arts, in association with the Department of
Treasury, will undertake the assessment.
(4) It will be
completed subsequent to submission of a formal application for funding.
